MMK Information regarding suspicious e-mails

At Mayr-Melnhof Karton we are committed to highest data security. Therefore, we want to inform you that in recent weeks an increase of suspicious correspondence (sometimes called phishing e-mails) was noticed. In the specific case, an e-mail with a request for payment was sent to our customers trying to trick our customers into changing bank account details. Such business-to-business identity theft scams can involve the fraudulent redirection of payments into accounts not belonging to Mayr-Melnhof Karton.

In principal, Mayr-Melnhof Karton will never send e-mails to customers in which we ask for any kind of sensitive information (e.g. password, account or bank details). In case you receive an e-mail that looks like it has been sent by Mayr-Melnhof Karton and in which you are asked to supply sensitive information, this e-mail is likely to be a phishing scam.
