Corrugated board is a fibre based material. It consists of flutes (aka medium) and liners. The number of flutes (corrugated) and liner (flat) is linked to the three existing wall types (single, double and triple wall). Most corrugated board is made of recycled fibres, eco-friendly and sustainable. Corrugated board can be made of brown or white Liners, or a combination of it. The flutes are mostly brown. Corrugated board is a construction of liners and flute(s) glued against each other. It offers high stability at a low weight, as its structure of glued paper layers (flutes and liners) optimally absorbs vertical pressure, impacts, and stacking loads.
Corrugated board is commonly used for making packaging boxes.
Different corrugated board types suit different packaging applications. Most common are single wall (two liners and one flute) and double wall (three liners and two flutes).
Triple wall board (four liners and three flutes) are mostly used for transport of heavier loads. Corrugated board is available in several flute types. From K-flute (largest flute profile) to N-flute (smallest flute profiles). Most common are E, D, B flutes, or combinations of it. Generally speaking, larger flute profiles offer better stability and smaller flute profiles offer better application options for printing. Liner and flutes are available in various grammages which offer even more choices of rigidity and printing performance in-between flute type combination.
White top coated paper is the first choice for multi color printings. It provides outstanding printing quality achieving brilliant artwork, especially for the POS. Equipped with superb smoothness and sufficient rigidity, white top coated liner is suitable for a wide range of industries.
