Rebuilding the BM 3 leads to maximum flexibility
The board machine 3 (BM 3) is going to be upgraded to a modern 4 layer Fourdrinier “swing” machine – one of the biggest investments of MMK for a long time. End of November, the works have started and are going to be completed in early 2012. The investment into a “swing machine” in Kolicevo allows for a fast responsiveness to changes in market dynamics.
For our customers this means: In line with market demand, recycled cartonboard production can be switched to FBB manufacture and vice versa (thus the term “swing”) for qualities between 215 and 400 gsm.
Apart from the successful and very well established WLC and FBB qualities that are currently produced, a new FBB quality will be launched in Kolicevo, similar to the GC2 grade Excellent Top™ from Baiersbronn. Thus, customers and distribution partners can rely even more on the high supply security of Excellent Top™ as well as other qualities. And MM Karton will further grow its position as one of the leading FBB suppliers in Europe.
