Printed Aluminium Foil

Blister foil, commonly used in blister packaging, forms part of a cavity that holds individual doses of medication. It typically consists of two layers: a printed layer and a heat-sealable layer. Ideal for packaging tablets, capsules and other solid pharmaceuticals, blister foil provides excellent barrier properties against moisture, light and oxygen, ensuring the protection of the drug from environmental factors. Additionally, it allows for tamper evidence and easy tear-off, enhancing patient convenience.

Coldform foil is used in cold-forming processes to create robust, heat-sealed blister packs. Made from thicker aluminum foil that can be formed into various shapes without the need for heat, it is suitable for sensitive medications requiring higher protection levels, including those prone to moisture and oxygen damage. Coldform foil offers superior barrier properties and protection compared to standard blister foil and is also more robust and resistant to mechanical damage.

Strip foil is used for packaging strip packs, where the foil is sealed in strips, typically containing multiple doses of medication in a single strip. Commonly used for blister packs, especially for medications like tablets or capsules taken in a series, strip foil provides good barrier properties and is easier to handle and dispense compared to individual blisters. It is often used for products that do not require as high a level of protection as coldform foil.
Conversely, suppository foil is specifically designed for packaging suppositories, which are inserted into the body. It ensures hygienic and safe storage, prevents contamination and maintains the integrity of the product.
