Skiving and Hemming

Skiving & Hemming technology is used to seal the cut edge of glue flaps located on the inside of PE-coated folding boxes to prevent grease migration into the cardboard, which could cause staining on the print surface. During the folding box gluing process, a major part of the cardboard layer is peeled off the glue flap and the remaining PE layer is hemmed around the edge. This process creates a barrier that prevents grease from migrating into the cardboard and causing staining on the print surface. Skiving & Hemming technology is an efficient and cost-effective way to prevent grease migration and maintain the visual appeal of folding boxes, making it a popular choice for packaging and printing applications.
