With FOODBOARD®, MM Board & Paper has developed the next generation of cartonboard which ensures the highest product safety thanks to its holistic security concept. FOODBOARD® is an internal development with an innovative barrier concept as the core component.

FOODBOARD® stands for product safety

FOODBOARD® shields packed food against the migration of defined unintended substances such as mineral oils.

The barrier provides comprehensive protection against impact from printing inks and the environment, which can impair packed food during transportation, storage and at the point of sale. The FOODBOARD® app provides full traceability of the packaging throughout the production process. As a result, FOODBOARD® provides reliable protection against cross-contamination and transparency throughout the supply chain.

FOODBOARD® preserves food quality

In close collaboration with leading international consumer goods producers, extensive long-term real-life tests (up to 30 months) have been carried out in a wide variety of food segments including cereals, pasta, tea, bakery products and rice.

The results of more than 30,000 internal and external migration analyses have conclusively confirmed the effectiveness of the barrier. The knowledge gained from the real-life tests has been summarised in a converting guideline. FOODBOARD® therefore preserves the quality of the packed foods.
