From Fibre to Future: MM at FACHPACK 2025, Europe’s Leading Packaging Industry Trade Fair
This September, Nuremberg “unboxed” Europe’s premier packaging tradeshow: FachPack. At this year’s show, MM Group, MM Board & Paper and MM Packaging greeted visitors with a colourful palette of fibre-based packaging solutions. With commercial and sustainability experts in attendance, the booth provided attendees a space to think through their packaging purchase from ideation through prototyping to launch.

MM Group: Setting the Stage
FachPack gave MM Group the stage to showcase the power of integration. From cartonboard, liner and packaging kraft paper to final packagingsolutions, the MM booth highlighted how performance, consumer appeal and sustainability can flow seamlessly from fibre to shelf. Visitors entered the ESG Experts Corner to learn more about how fibre-based packaging can position brands to navigate industry challenges ahead – such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and CO₂e reduction targets.

Beyond the booth, MM shared how the company transforms strategy into reality. Our Innovationbox talk offered proof for how sustainability and innovation can complement each other when effectively aligned.
MM Board & Paper: Cartonboard with Character
The MM Board & Paper people shined the spotlight on the full range of fibre-based, sustainable packaging materials, each of the top brands personified through a tailored character. Taking a neutral perspective, the Board & Paper experts walked visitors through recycled- and virgin-fibre options that provided the best fit for a given application.

A special highlight was receiving the German Packaging Award for the Blue Star Kraft Aktiv solution that MM Board & Paper developed with Henkel. Using our TOPCOLOR® BARRIER AROMA cartonboard, this solution replaced plastic blister packs with a recyclable packaging alternative that locks in aroma while reducing plastic.
MM Packaging: Innovation Meets Design
FACHPACK was also the perfect stage for MM Packaging to showcase smarter folding cartons, beverage carriers and moulded pulp alternatives. Visitors discovered firsthand how sustainable packaging design and dazzling shelf impact can go hand in hand. Our moulded pulp solutions, in particular, sparked lively conversations on how fibre can reduce or replace packaging’s plastic content without compromising on function or style. With progress in technology, today’s more eco-friendly packaging materials prove that sustainability can go hand in hand with strong branding. This is especially valuable for consumer packaged goods, where shelf appeal and protection are equally critical.

Conclusion: More Than a Booth
FACHPACK 2025 was more than an exhibition — it was a dialogue. The MM family shared, listened and celebrated. The many interactions that took place in and around the MM booth can be distilled into one clear and inspiring message: The future of the packaging industry is fibre-based, circular and brighter than ever.
