MM Group at the New Wood exhibition: Putting fibre-based innovation in the spotlight
MM Group exhibited at the New Wood (Uusi puu) exhibition in London, alongside a network of Finnish and European bioeconomy innovators. Held at The Garrison Chapel in Chelsea, London, the exhibition showcases wood-based and fibre-based innovations from across Finland, ranging from construction materials and textiles to packaging and household products. The event aims to show how fibre-based materials can replace traditional fossil-based products across a wide range of everyday applications, with a significantly lower environmental footprint.

The London exhibition has brought that conversation to the global stage, thanks in part to its sponsorship by The King’s Foundation and the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA), both founded by King Charles III, a long-standing advocate of sustainable development. A visit from Finland’s President Alexander Stubb also helped raise the event’s profile in Finnish media and beyond.
Packaging was central to the exhibition’s purpose. Fibre-based food-safe coatings, board materials, and other packaging solutions were highlighted as areas with real global market potential, and as categories where the transition away from fossil-based materials is already well underway.

The New Wood: Building a Biobased Future exhibition runs until 27 March 2026 at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea, London. It is organised by the Finnish Forest Association in collaboration with the CBA and The King’s Foundation, and funded by 20 member companies and organisations, including the Finnish Forest Foundation.
