MCM® ECO: Cartonboard without a catch
Elevating sustainability through 100% recycled fibres: MCM® ECO is the packaging material of choice for the leading brand of laundry sheets: Colour Catcher. Henkel, the manufacturer, is especially keen on the packaging’s resource-saving properties.
Being eco-friendly does not mean looking bland: MCM® ECO features a homogenous surface for first-class printing, achieving outstanding dot reproduction and high contrast images. Moreover, tests at Koenig & Bauer on a state-of-the-art Rapida 145 offset-printing machine showed that – due to MCM® ECO’s perfect flatness and minimal dust formation – great production efficiency can be achieved.
The combination of these features fit perfectly into Henkel’s sustainability strategy, when 100% of their packaging is designed to be reused or recycled. The company is striving for even higher rates of recycling, aiming to reach their target for 2030+ to have 100% of their paper and cartonboard in consumer packaging produced from recycled material or from sustainable forestry sources.
