As the name suggests, Tyrolean start-up “The Toastars” is reviving a well-known snack in a new size. The unique packaging solutions from Mayr-Melnhof Packaging Austria protect the take-away toasts safely, sustainably and 100% plastic-free.
The Biggest Toast in Town – Customised packaging
Innsbruck’s first toasteria opened in spring 2021, trading under this motto. The Tyrolean fast food start-up offers a varied range of toasts as take-away food and always follows the principles of regionality, quality and sustainability when selecting its ingredients. So why not also when it comes to suitable packaging?
Coming in at 16 cm x 16 cm, the different toast varieties are much larger than conventional toasts as they are intended as a main course. This calls for customised packaging solutions and individual designs.
Practical for on the go – Environmentally friendly to-go packaging
A practical fold-down flap at the top of the pack makes opening and closing not only easy when customers are on-the-go, but also keeps grease at bay and prevents burns. A special Kraft cartonboard from MM Board & Paper is used for the toast packaging and protects the contents perfectly thanks to its high rigidity. For take-away and fast food products especially, the packaging must be easy to handle and have the necessary barriers to prevent unwelcome stains. However, the purpose of the packaging goes far beyond these features. Each product group has its own distinctive packaging design (by Rosewood Graphics): “The Stars”, “The Greens” and “The Ones”, which perfectly communicate both the lifestyle and the sustainability of the product.
